As the Trip Designer: Group Travel, you will be responsible for efficiently designing custom itineraries incorporating a wide range of elements such as hotels, activities, transportation, meals, and special guests. Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple planning projects simultaneously will be essential in meeting or exceeding established travel planning and profitability goals. Fluent professional English, both written and spoken, is required for this role, along with familiarity with the US travel market and strong knowledge of North American, Caribbean, and Central American destinations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Design custom group travel and wellness retreat itineraries tailored to meet host requirements and expectations.
- Prepare detailed line-itemised trip budgets, ensuring pricing accuracy and profitability.
- Manage the client experience from initial trip design through planning, pricing, and sales, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
- Input detailed trip planning and budgeting information into Trip Logs in line with company processes.
- Request, receive, and evaluate terms and pricing from hotels, DMCs, and third-party suppliers to ensure quality and value.
- Research new destinations for development, efficiently sourcing quality suppliers to tight deadlines.
- Input supplier information to support the development and enrichment of our supplier database.
- Support in sourcing relevant destination information for clear and informative travel preparation documentation for hosts and guests alike.
- Meet or exceed established service standards and embrace company values of passion, ownership, and going above and beyond.
Necessary Skills and Experience:
- 2+ years of experience in a group travel and/or wellness retreat planning role.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple planning projects simultaneously.
- Solid financial management skills and experience managing budgets.
- Skilled at anticipating client needs and delivering intuitive, personalised solutions.
- Experienced international traveller with on-the-ground knowledge of regions and countries worldwide.
- Fluent in professional English, both written and spoken.
- Familiarity with the US travel market and strong knowledge of North American, Caribbean, and Central American destinations preferred.
- Experience with HubSpot, Monday.com, Google Drive, and Slack preferred.
- Sales experience preferred.
- Active experience including yoga, biking, hiking, water sports, etc., preferred.
- Candidates with foreign language skills preferred, particularly Spanish, French, and Italian.
- Previous experience as a guide/tour leader in a customer-facing role preferred.
- Previous event and/or festival experience preferred.
